After attempting this job on our own a couple times, we decided to stop endangering our son by coming at him with scissors, and take him to a real salon to cut his ever growing hair. We went to Crowning Touch off of Lorna and he did great. He sat in my lap and the stylist was so sweet and just talked to him and snipped away with him hardly even noticing. He does look older(kind of sad for me) but I think it is much improved from the scraggly hair that was coming over his ears and starting to form a mullet in the back. Just another milestone along the road of "firsts."
