Cupcakes and Pancakes

 

Last Thursday was my sweet baby Luke's first birthday. To celebrate our neighbor and her little girl came over with cupcakes. This was Luke's first cupcake and it didn't take him long to enjoy such a delicacy...he ate the whole thing before Nathan or Ellie finished theirs. That night I made blueberry pancakes and spelled out an "L" with blueberries, sprayed whipped cream around and put his birthday #1 on the cake. He was so hungry he threw the #1 down and picked up the entire pancake and started chomping away(with only two teeth mind you). This boy can eat! We had fun celebrating even in small ways. He then got to open his very own toy drum (which has been ransacked by Nathan of course but Luke doesn't seem to mind). Actually Nathan was so sweet to Luke all day and so excited for him to have a birthday. He wanted Luke to get in his crib in the morning and said, "I need to sing Happy Birthday to him Mommy." And he did sing the whole song to him. Then several times during the day he would come over to Luke and say "It's your birthday Luke, you're not Zero anymore."
