Thanksgiving Meal

This year we had quite a treat. My parents and brother came down here to visit with us and my brother has really gotten in to cooking recently, so he decided to do the entire Thanksgiving meal for us. He did an entire menu from last years "Gourmet" magazine. It wasn't a traditional meal full of casseroles and such, but it was all delicious and allowed us to try some dishes we would never know how to cook ourselves. The menu included an Asian-infused turkey which was very moist and flavorful with homemade gravy; a mushroom and sourdough bread stuffing; kale and cranberries which was very yummy and quite healthy; a salad with arugula, watercress, pears, manchego cheese, toasted pumpkin seeds and homemade salad dressing; pumpkin soup; and his own creation of a pineapple coconut chess pie with a creamy rum sauce drizzled on top. Other perks included eating on my fine china in our dining room(which we hardly ever use) and enjoy being together as a family(always a blessing). Although it wasn't the traditional fare, this meal will go down in the history books and it also may start a new tradition (hope my brother is free next year at this time).
