Once again Dan spoiled me for Valentines Day. He surprised me with a dozen gorgeous red roses on Friday(a couple days early so I could enjoy them longer) and then we planned a Valentines family trip to Callaway Gardens. The gardens are about three hours away and are over 1300 acres. The facility is absolutely huge and you really cant see and do everything in one day. We knew it would be cold but we were up for an adventure and a chance to get away and see something new. And of course, I love the outdoors so it was a good fit. They also have a butterfly house, indoor gardens and several resteraunts on site. We stayed right outside the park which was very convenient and the rates were great since its off-season but they also have cottages right on site. Although it was cold we all had a great time being together, getting outside, and seeing new sites. We would love to go back this summer or fall to see the water ski championship or the hot air balloon festival and to ride bikes on the 10 mile loop around the gardens but I'm not sure that will be feasible this summer since baby #2 will be making its arrival. Nonetheless we hope to go back soon.
