The boys and I were all spoiled last week when we went up to Huntsville to see my parents. Although my birthday had been a week ago they still pulled out all the stops…a professional massage at a spa, yummy dinners, a shopping trip to Target for summer goodies, help with the kids, and fun treats at a new bakery called “Nothing Bundt Cake”(serving mini-bundt cakes in all different flavors). The boys also got spoiled with all the new and exciting activities. Way too many pictures below but you know I can never narrow it down.
The biggest highlight was fishing with Papa. Nathan learned how to cast and by day 2 was doing great. They even caught a couple fish in this pond right behind my parents house.
The first full day we went to this park that I great up going to (Big Springs Park). They have recently re-done a lot of it and it is gorgeous. It also has more fish than I have ever seen in my life. The boys went through an entire loaf of bread feeding the ducks and fish.
Next stop was a quick run around the depot. They have a museum and store also but they were closed on Mondays. But the boys enjoyed running around and looking at the trains.
Luke’s first Push-up
Feeding Annie with those sticky fingers.
Swimming at the indoor pool and indoor splash pad and the YMCA.
Huntsville Botanical Gardens…wow, what a great place. We were there for over 2 hours and only saw 1/4 of the whole place. They have an amazing miniature train area outside with a running train, a butterfly house, a children’s area with water features in the summer and that’s all we saw this time but they have so many other gorgeous plant and flower areas throughout. Nathan truly loved the train and stood there for almost 1/2 an hour.
The rainbow path in fairy tale land. The astronaut was the only time Nathan has ever said “mom, take a picture of me”. I made sure to take one but he sure doesn’t look as happy as he really was.
Other highlights were throwing rocks with Uncle Kevin off a bridge.
