Dan was out of town last week so the boys and I headed up to Huntsville. Its always nice to have help with the kids, meals cooked for you(and cleaned up for you), and new places to play. We went to their YMCA pool a couple times but I refrained from taking pics (hard for me), but I did take a couple shots of the boys at the SciQuest Center, Space and Rocket Center, and Botanical Gardens.
We didn’t take anytime looking through the museum inside this time because the boys just wanted to see the BIG ROCKETS. And although I have seen them many times, it always blows me away how big they really are…just amazing.
The boys stumbled upon this “ride” and wanted to go on it. No one was in front of us so we didn’t have a chance to see it in action before-hand but since it was free I told them they could do it. Big mistake. It starts off slow but then starts speeding up and then rocking and bumping A LOT and this is when Luke started screaming. Luckily, they were the only ones on it so the ride operator stopped it immediately and brought them down. I think it will be a couple more years before we go on any “rides”.
Sci Quest is similar to the Mcwane Center on a smaller scale. Lots of fun but the boys really loved these funny mirrors.
The Huntsville Botanical Gardens is gorgeous, we never really get to see the flowers that much because they have so many fun things for the kids (large train exhibit, butterfly house, and splash area).
Fun around the house: we drove down to the river near my parents’ house to watch the boats come in; my dad caught a surprisingly large fish in the pond behind their house, and playing with their dog Annie.
