New Discoveries

Today was a great day of new discoveries. We started off trying out the new BREAKFAST BUFFET at Johnny Ray's BBQ in Vestavia. Dan and I love breakfast foods, and especially breakfast buffets. Also, as my pregnancy has progressed I have not been able to eat much food for dinner because it makes me feel sick, so by the time the morning comes I am famished. The buffet looked small but it was actually very good and definitley hit the spot. It had bacon, sausage, eggs, chicken tenders, hashbrowns, biscuits, grits, french toast, and a good amount of fresh fruit. They also have a full breakfast menu for those who don't feel like they need to gorge themselves on the buffet.

After we were full from all the food we got back in the car and it wasn't raining so I suggested we go test out the NATURE TRAIL in Vestavia. It is marked by blue signs as you travel north on hwy 31 towards towards the Publix and Rave. It is just a little past Vestavia Central Elementary and right across from Wald Park. Anyways, the trail was great and was definitley a highlight of my day. The map isn't the best, but the trails are wide and kept up well and there are several creeks and water spots/water falls. We started off at the main trailhead and then we came to different forks in the road and we took almost all the different directions at some time or another and they all looped us back around so its hard to get lost. It also only took us about 45 minutes to see most of the trails, which is perfect for a 9 month pregnant girl, if you have small children, or if you just want a nice evening or saturday morning stroll. There are some fairly steep hills though so make sure you have decent shoes on. All in all it was a great discovery because it is close by, FREE(which is ever-increasing in importance), and very scenic. Hope yall get to try it out and hope you enjoy the pictures.
